I love working with people to help them improve academically because I know from my own experience how difficult it is emotionally to fall behind your peers in your courses. I recently graduated from UC Irvine, but while I was still a student there, I would often 'tutor' my peers on a free, informal basis because I loved it so much and because they trusted my ability enough to consistently come to me for assistance. - I have about a year of fieldwork experience working with low-income students in the Santa Ana/Orange County area through the ThinkTogether and Santa Ana Police Athletic and Activity League (SAPAAL). - I will be working as a volunteer at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games this year.
